Because I've been underground for the last month, here's a belated holiday picture of Lily, admiring the ornaments on my parents' tree in the aftermath of presents and Christmas dinner. The adorable mini-dress from the 70s was a hand-me-down from Lily's friend Esme, who is a few weeks younger but a few pounds larger. Esme's aunt was apparently a very stylish toddler. When we put that dress on Lily Christmas morning and released her, she ran out of the room squealing, stopped just outside the door, bent her knees, threw her hands up into the air, tossed her head back and produced a belly laugh that sent us all into peals of laughter. My parents are still talking about it.
I just finished a book that was four years in the writing. Before you start frantically clicking on Amazon to pre-order your copy, it's a grammar book for foreign learners of English. I'm relieved to be finished with this phase of the writing, and had it dragged on any longer I might have been forced to burn Betty Schrampfer Azar and Raymond Murphy in effigy.
Not much crafting going on, unfortunately for me, but now that the manuscript is finished I'll have a little more time to make. This weekend is for sewing a new shade for our bedroom. Then on to more fun projects.
More to come, especially about our Christmas in Georgia. Just wanted to say I'm back.
Yay! You're back! Glad to see you, lady.
